By-law 2025-068: A by-law to appoint By-law Enforcement Officers (Parking and Water)

This by-law, passed by Council on May 12, 2025, names specific City staff as By-law Enforcement Officers. You can expect these officers to enforce parking and water conservation rules throughout Wrenford.

What the by-law does

The by-law gives your officers the legal power to issue tickets and orders for violations under the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 and the Water and Wastewater By-law 2017-090. They will focus on compliance in residential and commercial areas, especially during summer conservation alerts.

Who it applies to

The rules apply to you, whether you are a resident, a business owner, or a visitor. Your appointed officers will handle inspections, respond to complaints, and manage enforcement for illegal parking, expired meters, and water use restrictions.

Fines and penalties

If you break these rules, you will face fines set out in the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151 and under the Municipal Act, 2001. Parking offences start at $75.00 for restricted zones and $160.00 for expired meters or major roadways. Water conservation violations carry additional charges listed in the municipal fee schedule.

When it takes effect

This by-law took effect on May 12, 2025, the day Council voted. It stays in force until Council changes or cancels it.
