By-law 2025-132: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (speed limit on Eastfield Road)
Purpose
The City of Wrenford is making Eastfield Road safer for everyone who walks, bikes, or drives on it. This by-law lowers the speed limit in a busy neighbourhood area to give drivers more time to react and keep pedestrians safe.
What It Does
By-law 2025-132 changes the speed limit on Eastfield Road from 50 km/h to 40 km/h. This change applies to the section of the road between Corvid Way and Ambrel Lake Road. You will see new speed limit signs posted along this stretch to show the change.
Who It Applies To
This rule applies to all motorists, delivery drivers, and transit operators using the affected section of Eastfield Road. It also applies to any other vehicle operating on this city street.
Fines and Penalties
Driving over the posted speed limit is a provincial offence under the Highway Traffic Act. If you are caught speeding in this zone, you will receive a fine starting at $150.00. You may also face demerit points on your driver's licence. Repeat offences will result in higher fines.
When It Takes Effect
This by-law was passed by council on September 22, 2025, and takes effect immediately upon adoption. New signage is already being installed along the route.
What It Amends
This by-law amends Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to update the official speed limit schedules. No other parts of the by-law are changed.
