By-law 2025-166: A by-law to authorize an agreement with the Director of Social Services
This by-law authorizes the City Manager to enter into a formal agreement with the Director of Social Services. The main purpose is to fund and operate the Safe Nights Wrenford program, which provides temporary shelter beds and related support services for community members facing housing instability.
Under this agreement, the Director of Social Services will manage daily operations, coordinate with local health and social agencies, and ensure that shelter beds are staffed and maintained throughout the year. The agreement outlines funding levels, service standards, and reporting requirements to keep residents informed about how city funds are used.
This by-law applies to the City of Wrenford’s Social Services department and residents who register for the Safe Nights Wrenford program. It does not create any new fines or penalties.
The by-law takes effect immediately on the day council approved it, November 10, 2025. It does not amend or repeal any existing by-laws. It simply establishes the framework for this specific service partnership.
