By-law 2025-151: Fees and Charges By-law
By-law 2025-151, the Fees and Charges By-law, was passed by Council on October 27, 2025, at the Council meeting, October 27, 2025. This by-law establishes the official schedule of fees and rates for a wide range of municipal services, ensuring that the City recovers the costs of delivering programs and maintaining infrastructure.
The by-law applies to all residents, property owners, and businesses who use City services. It replaces the previous year's schedule and sets the fees for the 2025 calendar year. The main provisions cover business licence renewals, building and development permit applications, recreation program registrations, and utility user charges.
Under this by-law, home-based business licences cost $125.00 annually, while commercial or industrial business licences are $250.00 annually. Non-resident businesses pay $470.00. Building permits for residential projects under $50,000 in construction cost start at $125.00, with commercial and multi-residential permits calculated at a higher rate based on projected construction costs. A discount applies if you pay your business licence renewal by March 31.
If you do not pay the required fees, the City may refuse to issue the licence or permit, or charge interest on overdue amounts. Fines for late payment or non-payment follow the schedule set out in the by-law and the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151. You can pay online, by mail, or in person at the Service Wrenford counter at Wrenford City Hall.
This by-law takes effect on January 1, 2025, and remains in force until a new schedule is passed by Council. A certified copy is available for review at the City Clerk's office during regular business hours.
