Council meeting, October 27, 2025
Attendance
Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price presided. Present were Councillors Marcus Lindqvist, Priya Raman, Tom Beaudry, Grace Whitlock, Arjun Sidhu, and Helen Marchetti. City Manager Robert Eng and City Clerk Nadia Kowalczyk were also in attendance.
Delegations
A representative from the Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Area spoke about the new transit shelter advertising program. A resident from the Benchlands neighbourhood asked how the updated parking rates would apply to their street.
Reports and Decisions
- Transit shelter advertising program: Council reviewed a proposal to place advertisements on downtown transit shelters to help fund the initiative. The program will now move forward. Carried 7-0.
- Updated parking rates: Council reviewed the proposed changes to hourly rates for on-street parking and the Market Square Parking Garage. The new rates will take effect on November 1, 2025. Carried 6-1, with Councillor Sidhu voting against.
- Winter maintenance planning: Staff reported on the upcoming winter maintenance schedule for residential streets and main roads. Residents should expect snow clearing to begin once the city accumulates the required snowfall. Carried 7-0.
- Waste collection schedule: Staff confirmed the regular garbage and recycling collection dates for the holiday season. You can check the seasonal calendar on the [[Garbage & Recycling | City Services page]] for exact dates. Carried 7-0.

The following by-laws were passed:
- By-law 2025-151: Fees and Charges By-law
- By-law 2025-152: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (parking rates)
- By-law 2025-153: a by-law to confirm the proceedings of this meeting
