Attendance

The following members were present: Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price, Councillor Marcus Lindqvist (Ward 1), Councillor Priya Raman (Ward 2), Councillor Tom Beaudry (Ward 3), Councillor Grace Whitlock (Ward 4), Councillor Arjun Sidhu (Ward 5), and Councillor Helen Marchetti (Ward 6). City Manager Robert Eng and City Clerk Nadia Kowalczyk were in attendance. The meeting was livestreamed.

Delegations

A resident from the Northgate neighbourhood spoke in support of the Fire Station 2 upgrade, noting how a renovated facility will improve response times for the growing community.

Reports and decisions

  • Fire Station 2 Renovation: Council reviewed the report on the Fire Station 2 upgrade at 880 Northgate Boulevard. The project will modernize the station and add community amenities to support the Northgate area. The motion to proceed with the renovation was carried unanimously.
  • Kingfisher Outdoor Pool: Council considered the $1.2 million contract awarded to Benchlands Building Group for the pool renovation. The work will ensure the facility is ready for the 2025 summer season. The motion was carried unanimously.
  • Regional Emergency Services Agreement: Council reviewed and approved the agreement with the Regional Health Authority for Emergency Services, clarifying roles and cost-sharing for paramedic and fire response coordination across the region. The motion was carried unanimously.
