By-law 2025-095: A by-law to approve the Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Area 2025 Budget and Levy

By-law 2025-095 was passed by Council on July 14, 2025. This by-law formally approves the 2025 budget for the Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Area (BIA) and sets the special levy that funds it.

The Downtown Wrenford BIA helps local business owners improve the downtown core, organize street events, and keep the area clean and safe. Under this by-law, the City adopts the BIA's financial plan and allows the collection of a special levy from property owners inside the BIA boundaries.

The levy is based on the assessed value of commercial and industrial properties in the downtown zone. You will see the levy listed as a separate line item on your annual property tax bill. The City collects the levy at the same time as your regular property taxes, so you only need to make one payment.

This by-law takes effect on January 1, 2025, for the current fiscal year. It does not change or replace any older by-laws. It simply confirms the BIA's spending plan for 2025. If you want to read the full budget or have questions about how the levy is calculated, contact the Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Area or stop by City Hall.
