By-law 2025-103: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (parking restrictions on Water Street)

By-law 2025-103 amends the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to put seasonal parking restrictions in place on Water Street. The main goal is to give City Services crews enough room to safely clean and maintain the street without having to move parked vehicles.

The new rule applies to the section of Water Street between Mercer Street and Church Street. From the first Monday in April through the last Sunday in October, you cannot park on the north side of the street from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays. This two-day rotation lets the street-sweeping trucks pass through smoothly each week.

If you have a medical or mobility permit that requires you to park in this zone during those hours, you can apply through the By-law Enforcement office. Otherwise, please move your vehicle before 7:00 a.m. on your assigned day. You can check the Service Alerts page for any temporary changes to the schedule, especially around statutory holidays or when the city holds special events downtown.

Violations are enforced under the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075. A first offence carries a fine of $75.00. If you get a second ticket within the same calendar year, the fine rises to $160.00.

The by-law took effect on July 14, 2025, the day council passed it. It amends Schedule A of the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to add the new seasonal parking zone. A certified copy of the by-law is available from the Clerk's office at Wrenford City Hall during regular business hours.
