By-law 2025-014: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (speed limit on Kingfisher Drive)

Purpose

To reduce the speed limit on Kingfisher Drive from 50 km/h to 30 km/h to enhance safety for pedestrians and cyclists near the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and splash pad.

What it does

This by-law updates section 4 of Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to change the posted speed limit along Kingfisher Drive. We made this change to keep families safe while they walk and bike to the seasonal outdoor pool and splash pad.

Who it applies to

All drivers who use Kingfisher Drive in the Kingfisher neighbourhood.

Fines

If you are caught speeding, you will be fined under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. A first offence in a 30 km/h zone carries a fine and demerit points.

When it takes effect

The by-law took effect on February 10, 2025, the day Council passed it. We installed new speed limit signs along the road in March 2025.

What it amends

This by-law amends Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075. It does not remove any existing rules.

Where to find it

You can view a certified copy of the by-law at the City Clerk's office at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street. You can also search for it online using the Find a by-law page.
