By-law 2025-156: A by-law to amend Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151 (Downtown Business Improvement Area)
This by-law authorizes the City of Wrenford to collect a special property tax levy. The money raised will fund the Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Association for the 2026 operating year. The total budget approved for the association is $315,000.
What it does
By-law 2025-156 adds the Downtown Business Improvement Area levy to the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151. The levy applies to commercial and industrial properties located within the designated downtown boundary. The City will calculate each property's share based on its assessed value. The levy is collected alongside your regular annual property tax bill.
Who it applies to
Property owners in the downtown core are responsible for paying this levy. If you own a commercial or industrial building within the Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Association boundary, this charge will appear on your 2026 property tax bill.
Fines and enforcement
This by-law does not create new fines. The levy is collected as part of your regular property tax bill. If a levy payment is not made, the City will follow the same collection procedures and penalties used for unpaid property taxes.
When it takes effect
Council passed this by-law on November 10, 2025. The levy will be billed in 2026.
What it amends
This by-law amends the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151 to include the new Downtown Business Improvement Area levy schedule.
