By-law 2025-164: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (Winter Parking Prohibition)

You may have noticed that parking on certain streets is restricted during the winter months. This by-law updates the rules to make sure snow removal crews can work safely and keep our roads clear for everyone.

Under this update, the winter parking prohibition applies overnight from December 1 to March 31, between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This rule covers core-area streets, including Corvid Way and Kingfisher Drive. The goal is to give our City Services crews enough room to pass through residential and commercial areas without getting stuck or causing traffic jams.

If you park in a restricted zone during these hours, you could receive a $75.00 fine under the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075. We ask that you check the posted signs in your neighbourhood and move your vehicle before the prohibition begins. Moving your car early helps our crews clear the snow faster and reduces the risk of accidents.

This by-law amends the existing Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to align with the current winter maintenance schedule. It does not repeal any previous sections, but it does clarify the enforcement dates and specific streets where the overnight ban is active. The changes take effect as soon as the by-law is passed.
