By-law 2025-108: Election Sign By-law
You can put up signs to support a candidate or run your own campaign during a municipal election. By-law 2025-108: Election Sign By-law sets the rules for how and where you can display these signs in Wrenford. These rules keep our streets and sidewalks safe, ensure clear sightlines for drivers, and make sure signs are taken down quickly after the election.
This by-law applies to all candidates, political parties, and voters who want to put up campaign materials on public property or their own private property. It establishes clear standards for sign placement, size, and removal. For example, signs must not be taller than 1.5 metres, and you must keep at least 3 metres of space between signs you place. You can put up your first sign on nominations day and must take it down by 10:00 p.m. on the day after the election. Any signs left on the street after the deadline will be removed by the City at your expense. You may also face a fine for leaving a sign up past the deadline.
The by-law takes effect immediately after it was passed by Council on August 11, 2025, at the August 11, 2025 Council meeting. It applies to all municipal elections moving forward.
