By-law 2025-054: A by-law to amend Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151 (Amusement and Event Fees)
This by-law updates the fees for registering and permitting public events in Wrenford. It adjusts the costs for event organizers, amusement operators, and community groups who use City parks and streets for gatherings.
What it does
The by-law revises the fee schedule in the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151. It sets the following charges for the 2025–2026 season:
- Event registration fee: $250.00
- Special event permit fee: $500.00
- Amusement ride operator permit: $750.00
- Waste management surcharge for large events: $125.00
These fees cover the City's costs for staffing, cleanup, and safety inspections. The annual Tamsin River Run and other established community events are included in the updated schedule.
Who it applies to
If you are organizing a public event in Wrenford, you must follow these rules. This includes race organizers, festival planners, amusement ride operators, and community groups booking parks or closing streets. The fees apply to all events held on City property or using City services.
Fines
Operating an amusement ride or hosting a public event without the required permit can result in a fine of up to $1,000.00 for a first offence. Repeated violations may lead to higher penalties and a ban from booking City spaces.
When it takes effect
The new fees take effect immediately upon adoption. They apply to all permit applications submitted after April 28, 2025.
What it amends
This by-law amends the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151. It does not repeal any existing sections, but updates the amusement and event fee tables to match current operating costs.
