By-law 2026-023: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (speed limit on Corvid Way)

Purpose

This by-law updates the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to lower the speed limit on Corvid Way from 50 km/h to 30 km/h. The change is designed to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and residents who live near the corridor.

What the by-law does

The amendment modifies the posted speed limit along the entire length of Corvid Way. The new 30 km/h limit applies to all vehicles, including commercial trucks and service vehicles. City crews will install updated signage to reflect the change as soon as the by-law is in force.

Who it applies to

This rule applies to every driver using Corvid Way. Pedestrians and cyclists should still exercise caution and follow all other traffic safety guidelines. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to remind young drivers to adjust their speed in the area.

Fines and enforcement

By-law Enforcement Officers and the Wrenford Police Service will enforce the new limit. Drivers caught speeding will receive a ticket and a fine under the Provincial Offences Act. Repeat offences or high-speed violations may carry higher penalties.

When it takes effect

The by-law takes effect immediately upon receiving royal assent. You will see updated speed limit signs along Corvid Way as soon as municipal crews install them.
