By-law 2026-088: A by-law to authorize an agreement with the Director of Transit Services

Purpose

This by-law authorizes the execution of a service agreement with the Director of Transit Services to implement schedule adjustments for all 14 fixed-route bus services effective September 2026.

What it does

The agreement gives transit staff the authority to update timetables, adjust bus frequencies, and modify stop locations where needed. These changes are designed to reduce wait times at busy transfer points and better match service levels with current ridership patterns in neighbourhoods such as Wildrye, Ambrel Lake and Larch Heights. The Director of Transit Services will coordinate closely with transit operators to ensure a smooth transition for you.

Who it applies to

This by-law applies to all riders, transit operators, and municipal staff involved in the delivery of fixed-route bus services in Wrenford.

Fines and penalties

This by-law does not create any new fines or penalties. Existing rules under the Transit System By-law continue to apply to all riders.

When it takes effect

The schedule adjustments authorized by this by-law take effect in September 2026, once the updated timetables are printed and posted at transit terminals and online.

Amendments and repeals

This by-law does not amend or repeal any existing by-laws. It is a standalone authorization tied to the June 22, 2026 Council meeting agenda.
