Council amended parking rules near Kingfisher Pool on July 13, 2026, to allow extra operating hours for Canada Day weekend.

By-law 2026-091: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (temporary parking restrictions near Kingfisher Pool)

About this by-law

On July 13, 2026, Council passed By-law 2026-091 to temporarily adjust parking rules along Kingfisher Drive and the adjacent service road. The amendment supports extended operating hours for the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool during the busy Canada Day weekend.

What the rules mean for you

Starting July 1, no vehicle may park in the marked zones between 8:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on July 2. This restriction ensures clear access for pool staff, delivery trucks, and maintenance equipment. The rules do not apply to emergency vehicles, Wrenford Transit buses, or residents who hold a valid residential parking permit for the affected blocks.

Fines and enforcement

By-law Enforcement Officers will enforce these temporary restrictions. Drivers who ignore the posted signs or removal requests may receive a parking ticket. Under the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075, a first offence typically carries a fine of $75.00.

When it takes effect and what it changes

By-law 2026-091 takes effect on July 13, 2026, immediately following Council's vote. It amends Schedule A of the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to add a temporary prohibition zone. No existing by-laws are repealed by this action.
