This by-law changes zoning rules for 12 Wildrye Drive to allow mixed-use development as part of the city's downtown revitalization strategy.

By-law 2026-072: A by-law to amend Zoning By-law 2016-040 (rezoning of property at 12 Wildrye Drive)

By-law 2026-072 changes how the city uses the land at 12 Wildrye Drive. Council passed it on May 25, 2026, to support our downtown revitalization strategy. The new zoning allows mixed-use development, meaning you can find retail or office space on the ground floor with apartments or offices above. This change helps bring more people to the area and supports local businesses.

The by-law applies to the property located at 12 Wildrye Drive in the Wildrye neighbourhood. It updates the Zoning By-law 2016-040 to reflect the new land use rules for this specific lot. Developers or property owners looking to build on this site will now need to follow the mixed-use standards, including parking, building height, and landscape requirements.

This by-law does not create any new fines or penalties. Standard penalties for breaking zoning rules still apply under the Provincial Offences Act. The amendment takes effect the day after it is passed, on May 26, 2026.

It amends the existing Zoning By-law 2016-040 to update the permitted uses and development standards for the property. A certified copy of the by-law is available from the City Clerk's office at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1, or you can view it through the Online By-law Search Portal.
