By-law 2026-031: A by-law to authorize an agreement with the Regional Police Service for additional policing services

This by-law authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with the Regional Police Service for expanded patrol services in the Westbrook area. The agreement allows the City to fund additional police officers dedicated to the Westbrook neighbourhood, enhancing community safety and response times. Residents and businesses in Ward 2 will see a stronger visible police presence, particularly during evening and weekend shifts. The agreement covers officer salaries, training, and equipment allocated specifically for this district.

The by-law does not create any new fines or penalties; it simply covers the cost of the expanded service. It takes effect on the day it is passed by Council, March 9, 2026. This by-law does not amend or repeal any previous by-laws. A certified copy of the agreement is available for review at the City Clerk's Office, Wrenford City Hall, during regular business hours. For questions about policing services, contact the Wrenford Police Service directly. The City will report on the effectiveness of this initiative at the next budget review cycle. Council retains the authority to adjust funding levels annually based on service demand and municipal budget approvals.
