By-law 2024-098: A by-law to authorize an agreement with the Chief Administrative Officer

The by-law authorizes the City of Wrenford to enter into a formal agreement with the Chief Administrative Officer to deliver comprehensive waste diversion education services. This initiative supports the City's Waste management strategy by helping you separate recyclables and organics more effectively. The agreement outlines the scope of the program, which includes neighbourhood workshops, school outreach visits, and public awareness campaigns distributed through local channels and the City website. It establishes clear performance targets, quarterly reporting requirements, and specific budget allocations for the 2024–2025 fiscal year.

The by-law applies to all municipal departments involved in waste collection, and it guides how you and local businesses can participate in the education initiatives. While the by-law does not create new fines or penalties, it reinforces compliance with existing municipal standards. If you continue to place non-recyclable items in your Blue Box or Green Bin, you may still face enforcement action under the Waste management bylaws.

The agreement takes effect on the date it is passed, August 12, 2024, and remains in force until the education program concludes or until Council amends or revokes it. This by-law does not amend or repeal any existing municipal legislation. A certified copy of the by-law is available for public review at the City Clerk's Office in Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, during regular business hours.
