By-law 2024-017: A by-law to authorize an agreement with the Director of Public Works for winter maintenance services

This by-law, passed by Council on February 12, 2024, allows the City to hire out specialized snow removal equipment and labour for the Ambrel Lake Park area. It gives the Mayor and City Clerk the authority to sign an agreement with the Director of Public Works to carry out these winter maintenance tasks.

The agreement covers the supply of snow clearing machinery and the staff needed to operate it. This ensures that parking lots, pathways, and drop-off areas around Ambrel Lake Park stay safe and accessible throughout the winter months. The work follows the standards set out in the Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law and the annual Fees and Charges By-law.

This by-law applies to City staff in the Public Works department and any contractors hired under this agreement. It does not create new fines or penalties for residents. If you have questions about snow clearing in your neighbourhood, you can contact City Services or call 519-555-0100.

The agreement takes effect as soon as it is signed and remains in force for the current winter season, unless cancelled or amended by Council. This by-law does not amend or repeal any previous by-laws.

A certified copy of this by-law is available for public review at the Clerk's Office, located at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street. You can visit during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
