By-law 2024-189: Official Plan By-law 2024-189

Purpose

This by-law formalizes the city's long-term plan for housing, infrastructure, and industry. It sets out the vision and goals for Wrenford's growth over the next ten years. The plan guides how we use land, where we build housing, how we upgrade roads and trails, and how we support local businesses and industry.

What it does

It updates the City of Wrenford Official Plan to set clear targets for the next decade. The plan focuses on three main priorities: expanding affordable housing, upgrading neighbourhood infrastructure like roads and trails, and supporting local industries. Council also adopted this by-law to update related zoning rules so they match these new goals.

Who it applies to

This plan applies to all residents, developers, property owners, and city staff involved in planning and development across Wrenford. It changes how future projects are reviewed and approved.

Fines

If you build or change a property in a way that does not follow the updated zoning rules, you may face fines under the Zoning By-law 2016-040.

When it takes effect

This by-law took effect on December 9, 2024, the day council passed it.

What it amends

It amends the City of Wrenford Official Plan (2018, office consolidation 2025) and updates related zoning rules. A certified copy of the by-law is available from the Clerk's office at City Hall.
