By-law 2024-090: A by-law to amend Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151 (water rates)
This by-law updates how the City charges for municipal water service. It adjusts the base water rate and the consumption charges for both residential and commercial properties.
The changes apply to every property connected to the City's water system. The new rates replace the previous schedule starting January 1, 2025. This update reflects the cost of maintaining the Tamsin River Water Treatment Plant and the city's water distribution network.
If you are billed for water through your property tax account, the new rates will show on your next interim or final tax bill. If you have a separate water account, the updated charges will apply to your next bi-monthly statement. You can view your current usage and upcoming bills online through the Water Billing portal.
There are no new fines attached to this by-law. However, the City continues to enforce payment of all water charges under the Water and Wastewater By-law 2017-090. Unpaid balances may be added to your property tax account and collected through the Ontario Registry Service.
This by-law amends the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151. It does not repeal any existing sections.
