By-law 2024-170: A by-law to amend Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151 (sewer and water rates)
By-law 2024-170 updates the sewer and water rates for the 2025 tax year. City Council approved these changes on November 25, 2024, to ensure we have the funds needed for essential upgrades at the Tamsin River Water Treatment Plant. Keeping our water infrastructure in good shape means safer drinking water and reliable service for every neighbourhood.
What changes?
This by-law adjusts the base monthly charges and the per-volume usage rates for both residential and commercial properties connected to the municipal water and sewer system. The updated rates cover routine maintenance, pipe replacements, and the new filtration upgrades required by provincial health standards. You will see the new charges on your 2025 water bills, which are sent out every two months.
Who does this affect?
Every property owner who receives water and sewer services from the City is covered by these new rates. If you are on a private well or septic system, these changes do not apply to you. You can review the exact rate tables on the Water Billing page or call Water & Wastewater at 519-555-0100 for a copy.
When does it take effect?
The new rates take effect on January 1, 2025. If you pay your water bills through pre-authorized monthly instalments, your payment amount will be adjusted automatically. You do not need to call us to make changes to your account.
What does this by-law amend?
By-law 2024-170 amends the Fees and Charges By-law 2025-151. It replaces the old rate schedules with the new 2025 figures. A certified copy of the by-law is available for review at the Clerk's Office at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, or you can request a digital copy by emailing [email protected].
