By-law 2024-100: A by-law to authorize an agreement with the General Manager of Transit Services

About By-law 2024-100

On August 12, 2024, Council passed By-law 2024-100. This by-law gives the City the legal right to sign a contract with the General Manager of Transit Services. The goal is to buy ten new electric buses for Wrenford Transit.

What the by-law does

The agreement lets the transit department order zero-emission vehicles. These buses will replace older diesel models on your local transit routes. Switching to electric will cut down on exhaust fumes and make the ride quieter for everyone.

Who it applies to

This by-law is mainly for transit staff and the bus suppliers. It does not change any rules for residents or businesses, so there are no fines or penalties attached.

When it takes effect

The by-law took effect on August 12, 2024. It does not change or replace any earlier by-laws.
