By-law 2021-045: Open Air Burning and Fire Prevention By-law

By-law 2021-045: Open Air Burning and Fire Prevention By-law was passed by Council on April 12, 2021. This by-law sets out clear rules for safe open-air burning and helps keep Wrenford's neighbourhoods protected from fire hazards.

What the by-law does

The by-law requires a permit for seasonal open-air burning of yard waste and other allowed materials. It also outlines fire prevention measures that property owners must follow, such as keeping flammable materials away from structures and ensuring safe disposal of ashes.

Who it applies to

It applies to all residents, property owners, and businesses within the City of Wrenford. If you plan to burn materials outdoors, you must apply for a permit and follow all safety guidelines.

Fees and fines

A seasonal open-air burning permit costs $25.00. Violations of this by-law may result in fines under the Ontario Fire Code and the Municipal Act, 2001.

When it takes effect

The by-law took effect on April 12, 2021, immediately following its passage by Council. It replaces previous open-air burning regulations to align with current fire prevention standards.
