By-law 2023-165: A by-law to appoint By-law Enforcement Officers for the 2023–2027 term
This by-law formally appoints the individuals who will serve as By-law Enforcement Officers for Wrenford from 2023 to 2027. The new council chose to focus on waste management review and overall by-law enforcement during this four-year term.
What the by-law does
It gives specific City staff the legal authority to enforce municipal by-laws across Wrenford. These officers will handle routine compliance checks, issue tickets for violations, and help ensure our neighbourhoods stay clean and safe. The appointments align with the council’s priorities for the 2023–2027 cycle.
Who it applies to
The by-law applies to the named officers and to all residents, property owners, and businesses in Wrenford. Everyone must follow the rules set out in our by-laws, from waste sorting to parking and property standards.
Fines and enforcement
If a by-law is broken, officers can issue Provincial Offences tickets under the Municipal Act, 2001. Fines depend on the specific by-law violated, such as the Traffic and Parking By-law or the Waste management bylaws. You will receive a ticket with the exact amount and instructions on how to pay or appeal.
When it takes effect
This by-law took effect immediately after Council passed it on November 13, 2023. It covers the full 2023–2027 term and replaces the previous appointments made for the 2019–2023 term.
