By-laws passed in 2023

Establishes seasonal overnight parking prohibitions on Fallsview streets to allow city snow-removal crews to clear roads safely.

By-law 2023-172: A by-law to amend Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 (winter parking restrictions)

During the winter months, safe snow removal is a top priority for the City. This by-law updates the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 to create seasonal parking prohibitions on specific residential streets in the Fallsview neighbourhood. The goal is to give municipal snow-removal crews the full width they need to operate safely and clear the roads efficiently.

The seasonal ban runs from December 1 to March 31 each year. During this period, no vehicle may be parked on the designated streets between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This overnight window allows plows to work through the night without obstruction. The rule applies to all private vehicles, including cars, trucks, and recreational vehicles.

If you park in a restricted zone while the ban is in effect, you will receive a parking ticket. Violations are enforced under the Highway Traffic Act and carry a standard fine of $75.00 for a first offence. Repeated violations during the same winter season may result in higher fines or vehicle towing at the owner's expense.

This by-law takes effect immediately upon its passage by Council on November 27, 2023. The first enforcement season begins on December 1, 2023. It amends the existing Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 and does not repeal any previous legislation. A certified copy of the by-law is available for public review at the Clerk's office, located at Wrenford City Hall.
