What you vote for

In Wrenford, you elect a mayor and six councillors every four years. The mayor is elected at-large, meaning they represent the entire city. Each of the six councillors represents one ward. Together, they form the council that makes decisions about roads, parks, transit, water, and public safety.

Next election date

The next municipal election will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026. The newly elected council term begins on November 15, 2026, and runs until November 15, 2030.

By-elections

If a councillor or the mayor leaves office between scheduled elections, a by-election may be called. A by-election is required if the vacancy occurs more than 18 months before the next general election. If two or more positions are vacant, the rules for holding a by-election may change depending on how much time is left until the next general election.

Election rules and acts

Wrenford's elections follow the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 where applicable. The Elections Office manages the voter list, candidate registrations, and campaign finance reporting to keep the process fair and transparent.
