Who is running
After nominations close on October 2, 2026, the Elections Office publishes the official list of all candidates. This list includes everyone who has filed the required nomination papers and paid the $50.00 deposit. The register is posted on the Elections page by 5:00 p.m. on October 3, 2026.
What you will see
The register shows each candidate's full name, home address, and the ward they represent for council races. If a candidate has provided an email address or phone number for campaign inquiries, that information is listed too. The Elections Office verifies that every candidate meets the eligibility requirements under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
How to access the list
You can view the full register online on the Elections page. A printed copy is available at Room 200, Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1, during regular business hours. If you need a large print copy or have an accessibility request, contact the Elections Office at 519-555-0100.
Updating your information
If you are a candidate and need to change your mailing address, phone number, or email, please email the Elections Office at [email protected]. You must make changes before the voter list closes on October 10, 2026, to ensure your information is printed on voter information cards and mailed to residents in your ward.
Withdrawing from the race
Candidates can withdraw their nomination in writing at any time before election day. If you withdraw, your $50.00 deposit will be returned to you. The Elections Office will remove your name from the register and update the voter information cards. You must also file a Statement of Election Expenses by December 26, 2026, even if you withdrew early.
Eligibility requirements
Before your name appears on the register, you must submit a nomination paper signed by two electors from your ward, a photo identification, and the election deposit. To qualify, you must be at least eighteen years old on election day, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of Wrenford or owning or leasing property here. The Elections Office reviews every submission to confirm these details.
