Spring clean-up collection dates announced for May 2025

The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce the Spring Clean-Up collection dates for May 2025. This annual program gives residents a convenient way to dispose of excess household items alongside their regular garbage collection on May 5 and May 19.

"This program is a great way to keep our neighbourhoods tidy and reduces illegal dumping," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We encourage everyone to take advantage of these dates, but please remember to only place accepted items at the curb and to leave a one-metre space between your waste carts and the items."

All households receiving curbside garbage service are eligible to participate. You may place up to one pick-up truck-sized load of items at your curb no earlier than the weekend before the collection day. Our by-law officers will be patrolling neighbourhoods to make sure everyone follows the Waste Management By-law.

Some items are not accepted during the Spring Clean-Up. For large items like mattresses, you can use the mattress recycling voucher program or the standard bulky item pickup service. For paints, solvents, and other household hazardous materials, you can drop them off at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility depot from May through October.

Don't forget to check your Blue Bin and Green Bin schedules. These collections continue on their regular weekly and biweekly cycles during the Spring Clean-Up.
