Delegations
A resident from the Westbrook neighbourhood asked about traffic calming measures near local schools. A representative from the Downtown Wrenford Business Improvement Area shared plans for the spring clean-up campaign and asked for continued support on downtown events.
Reports and decisions
Council discussed the following reports and made these decisions:
- Spring water quality and safety: The City begins its spring water main flushing program in the north end today. Crews will work through the week to improve water quality and system pressure. As spring warms up, you should stay off melting ice and report frozen storm drains by dialing 311.
- Storm drain maintenance: City crews started clearing storm drains across the downtown core this week. This work prevents spring flooding and keeps business districts running smoothly.
- Westbrook Community Arena: Council approved the schematic design for the $14.2 million Westbrook Community Arena Revitalization Project. Construction will start this summer, and the facility is scheduled to reopen in September 2027.
- Zoning and site plan updates: Council reviewed proposed changes to the Zoning By-law 2016-040 to allow new permitted uses at 45 Mercer Street and grant a site plan control exemption at 12 Tamsin Street. Both measures were supported to encourage mixed-use development in the downtown core.
- Water rates: The City reviewed its annual water rate adjustment. The new rates cover infrastructure upgrades at the Tamsin River Water Treatment Plant and will be billed on your next water statement.

The following by-laws were passed:
- By-law 2026-028: A by-law to amend Zoning By-law 2016-040 (permitted uses at 45 Mercer Street)
