Community advisory committees

Apply to join a City advisory committee and help shape Wrenford’s policies, programs, and long-term plans.

Why join a committee?

Community advisory committees give residents a direct voice in how Wrenford grows and changes. You will share local knowledge, review City plans, and recommend actions to Mayor and Council. Most committees meet once or twice a month in the evenings. You do not need special qualifications to apply, just a desire to help your neighbourhood.

How to apply

All appointments are made by City Council based on the Appointment of Council Committees Policy. You can apply at any time. Your application is reviewed by the City Manager’s office and forwarded to the relevant standing committee for a match. If your skills and interests align with an open seat, you will be invited to an interview. Appointments usually last two years.

Submit your Committee Volunteer Application form to [email protected] or drop a printed copy at Wrenford City Hall. We review applications every quarter on the last Friday of January, April, July, and October.

Support and resources

Every committee receives a clear terms of reference document that outlines its mandate, meeting schedule, and decision-making process. City staff attend meetings to provide administrative support and background research. Travel expenses for committee members are covered according to the Councillor salaries and expenses policy, which also applies to appointed residents.
