Mayor and councillor salaries
Elected officials in Wrenford are paid an annual salary for their work. The salaries are set by Council and reviewed every four years as part of the budget process.
- Mayor: $85,000.00 per year
- Councillor: $45,000.00 per year

Ward budgets and office expenses
Each councillor receives a ward budget to help cover the costs of running a ward office and supporting the community. The budget covers things like:
- Salaries for ward office staff
- Printing and mailing costs
- Community meeting expenses
- Office supplies and equipment
The city provides each councillor with a workspace at City Hall. The mayor's office also has its own operating budget to cover administrative support and official functions.
How expenses are reported
Wrenford follows Councillor Salaries and Expenses By-law 2019-085. This by-law makes sure every dollar spent is tracked and shared with the public.
Each councillor must submit a monthly expense report to the City Clerk's Office. The reports include the date, amount, vendor, and a short note about what the money was spent on. If a councillor hosts a meeting or buys something for the ward, they have to explain why it is needed for their duties.
These reports are made public on our website within 30 days of the end of each month. You can also pick up a printed copy at Room 110, Wrenford City Hall.
