What you can do
Our swimming lessons help children and teens build water safety, confidence, and stroke technique. Classes follow a provincially recognised programme that focuses on drowning prevention, breath control, and gradual skill building. You will find a safe, supervised environment with trained instructors and proper lifeguard coverage at every session.
How to register
Registration for fall sessions opens on the last Monday of August. You can sign up through Wrenford Recreation Online, by calling the aquatic desk, or in person at the pool reception. When you register, you will choose a lesson level that matches your current swimming ability. If you are unsure which level is right for you, you can book a free Swimmer Skill Check before registration day. This short evaluation will point you to the best starting point.
Classes run for six weeks and meet once or twice a week, depending on the level. Beginner groups usually have up to eight swimmers, while intermediate and advanced groups have up to ten. Instructors hold a Bronze Cross certification or higher and are trained to teach all age groups.
Fees and rules
A standard six-week course costs $55.00. If your child needs extra help to finish a level, you can book a private 30-minute session for $30.00. All classes include pool admission. There are no hidden costs for towels, lane lines, or teaching aids.
Please bring a swimsuit, towel, and swim cap if the facility requires one. Goggles are optional. We follow the Inclusive Swimwear Policy, which welcomes traditional and non-traditional swimwear, including full-coverage garments worn over a swimsuit. For safety, please wear a separate top layer to the pool and shower before entering the water.
If your child needs extra support in the water, the Aquatic Support Staff Programme allows you to bring a trained aide. You must give three weeks notice so we can arrange the correct ratio and ensure the aide knows the pool rules. Attendants enter for free, and one support person is allowed per participant.
