Playground amenities across Wrenford

Wrenford parks are designed for children of all ages and abilities. You will find age-appropriate play structures, rubber safety surfacing, and shade structures at many locations. The City follows universal design playground standards to ensure new installations include ground-level panels and high-contrast features.

Where to find playgrounds and splash pads

Several parks feature playgrounds alongside splash pads and wading pools. These water features operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from late June to Labour Day, weather permitting. You can find splash pads at Ambrel Lake Park and Kingfisher Outdoor Pool. For a full list of park locations and their specific amenities, visit Find playgrounds and splash pads.

Safety and maintenance

The Parks & Trails team inspects play structures regularly. If you notice loose equipment, damaged surfacing, or a safety hazard, please report it online. The City aims to triage all reported safety concerns within two business days. During the busy summer months (May to September), crews also visit parks daily to empty garbage bins and pick up litter.

Park rules and bylaws

Enjoy your visit, but please follow these city rules to keep everyone safe:

  • Quiet hours: Under the Noise By-law 2016-122, amplified sound must stop at 9:00 p.m. in all parks.
  • Dogs: Pets must be on a two-metre leash outside of designated off-leash areas, like Hollis Park.
  • Glass: Glass containers are prohibited in all park areas.
  • Fire safety: Grills and fire pits require a City permit. For details, see Learn about park fire safety.

Hosting a gathering

If you want to bring a picnic table or host a small birthday party, you can rent a park shelter or picnic site. Bookings are available on a first-come, first-served basis through the online portal. For large gatherings or commercial events, you must apply for a park rental permit. If you plan to install temporary pathways, ramps, or boardwalks for an event, you will need a park pathway permit ($150.00 application fee).
