Splash pad season and hours

Outdoor splash pads open from late June to Labour Day. They operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., weather permitting. Staff close the pads early if lightning is detected within ten kilometres. Always supervise children closely, and remember that splash pads are not wading pools or substitutes for lifeguarded swimming areas.

Universal design and inclusive play

Wrenford follows a universal design approach for new playgrounds. Look for unitary rubber surfacing that accommodates wheelchairs and walkers, ground-level play panels, high-contrast handrails, and tactile sensory features. Accessible washrooms are located at Riverside Flats Park and Kingfisher Outdoor Pool. If you need a quiet space for a child with sensory needs, the Benchlands Lookout Playground offers a designated low-traffic corner away from the main play structures.

Maintenance and reporting

Parks crews visit higher-traffic locations daily during summer to empty bins and clear litter. Grass is mowed weekly from May to September. If you spot broken equipment, standing water, or overgrown brush, please report it using the online service request form. Staff aim to triage safety concerns within two business days.

Book a nearby picnic site

Many playgrounds sit next to bookable picnic shelters and gazebos. Applications open the first Tuesday of September for the May to October season. First-come, first-served bookings are available on the day of use for smaller sites. Visit the park rental page to view maps and reserve your spot.
