Overview
Wrenford maintains parking lots across the city to help you find a safe place to park while visiting our parks, trails, and recreational facilities. Whether you are heading to Benchlands Lookout Park, Ambrel Lake Park, or Riverside Flats Park, please review the rules below so you can enjoy your visit without unexpected fines.
Park parking rules and fines
- Standard park parking is free during park operating hours.
- If you have an expired permit or an unpaid meter, you will receive a $50.00 penalty notice.
- If you choose to contest a parking ticket and it is upheld at an adjudication hearing, an additional $25.00 adjudication fee applies.
- Long-term parking in park lots is not permitted. Vehicles left unattended for more than 72 consecutive hours may be towed.
Overnight parking bans
During the winter months, an overnight on-street parking ban runs from December 1 to March 31, between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This ban also applies to designated park parking lots to keep snowplows clear and ensure road safety. Check park parking bans for the full schedule and map.
Alternate side parking enforcement
For neighbourhoods with alternate side parking rules, enforcement begins at midnight on the 15th of each month. Look for the blue route marker signs with white text that mark the active plow routes. You must move your vehicle to the opposite side of the street before midnight so crews can clear the snow. Learn more about alternate side parking.
Contractor reserved parking
The Contractor Reserved Parking Permit allows contractors to reserve on-street parking near active work sites in Residential Parking Zones. The standard fee is $22.00 per day, per parking space. Contractors must submit their requests at least five business days in advance. Find details on contractor reserved parking.
Street-specific parking rules
Some park parking lots connect to streets with specific restrictions. For example, the Mercer and Tamsin Streets peak restriction zone does not allow food truck setups between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. or 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays. Always check street-specific parking rules before parking.
Electric vehicle charging for commercial lots
Wrenford is updating business licences for gas stations and commercial parking lots to identify those with electric vehicle (EV) charging. This helps us track charging options across the city. Business owners must update their licence category and provide verification of installed chargers. Contact the Economic Development desk at 311 or email [email protected] for pre-approval and category details.
Event parking and lot maintenance
In addition to standard parking, Centennial Gardens requires a $10.00 daily pass for commercial event parking. The City also runs a Park Lot Patrol Service to conduct monthly safety checks of all park parking lots, ensuring signage is intact and drainage is clear.
