Book a sports field
You can reserve sports fields for leagues, tournaments, practices, and community events across Wrenford. Whether you need a premium grass pitch, a standard community field, or an artificial turf surface, you can find a space that fits your group. All bookings must be made through the online portal or by contacting our recreation booking team.
Field classes and locations
Sports fields are grouped into classes based on their surface quality, amenities, and maintenance level. Each class has a different rental rate.
- Class A premium fields feature high-quality turf, lighting, change rooms, and seating. These are ideal for tournaments and large competitions. Locations include Riverside Flats Sports Fields and Benchlands Athletic Park.
- Class B standard fields receive regular mowing and basic amenities like natural drainage and open access. They are great for weekly practices and smaller leagues. Locations include Ambrel Lake Sports Fields and Eastfield Community Park Fields.
- Class C economy fields offer a natural surface with minimal maintenance. They are best for casual play and community gatherings. Locations include Larch Heights Field Complex and Wildrye Park Fields.
Artificial turf fields
For year-round play regardless of weather, you can book artificial turf fields. These surfaces require higher rental rates due to their installation and maintenance costs. The Riverside Turf Fields offer a high-performance surface suitable for soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. Artificial turf bookings are available from May through October, and during winter months if the surface is cleared of snow and ice.
Booking and fees
Rental rates depend on the field class and the time of day. All bookings require a refundable deposit to secure the space.
- Class A grass fields: $85.00 per hour
- Class B grass fields: $55.00 per hour
- Class C grass fields: $35.00 per hour
- Artificial turf fields: $110.00 per hour
- Refundable deposit: $100.00
You can book fields up to six months in advance. A 14-day cancellation policy applies: if you cancel in writing at least 14 days before your booking date, you will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 14 days in advance will be charged the full rental fee. We also offer a last-minute booking window for unused evening slots, which opens 72 hours before the desired time.
Park rules and maintenance
When booking a field, you agree to follow all park by-laws and treat the space with care. Do not stake tents or equipment into the ground without a separate park pathway or shelter permit. Keep all pets on a leash unless you are using an official off-leash area. If rain makes a field unplayable, staff will close it for safety; you will be offered a reschedule or a credit toward a future booking. Field maintenance schedules are posted weekly, and you can check the current status of all parks and fields before your event.
