The Wrenford Public Library invites families and young readers to kick off the season-long winter reading challenge at the Main Branch on Wednesday, February 21. The drop-in event runs from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and includes craft activities, reading log distribution, and a chance to win small prizes for early sign-ups.
The challenge runs through the end of March. Participants will pick up a reading log at the event or print one online. They can record books read, stories heard, or library visits made. When the challenge ends, readers bring their completed logs back to the Main Branch to enter a prize drawing.
"Reading together builds a stronger community," says Tara Sandhu, Library CEO. "We want to make it easy and fun for everyone to stay engaged with books during the colder months."
If you do not have a library card, you can register on the day. Children under 13 must apply with a parent or guardian. Teens 13 and older may apply independently. You can also apply online before the event.
The Main Branch is located at 150 Mercer Street. Regular hours are Monday to Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
You can also read on the go. The Books on the Bus program lets you borrow and return library items on fixed-route Wrenford Transit buses. Check the library website for the full list of participating routes and schedules.
