Kingfisher Pool and Wildrye Splash Pad opening dates announced

The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce the opening dates for the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and the Wildrye Splash Pad for the 2024 summer season. Both water amenities will open on Saturday, June 22, weather permitting, and will remain open through Labour Day weekend.

The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool at 15 Kingfisher Court will welcome swimmers for daily leisure swims, swim lessons, and family sessions. The pool features a deep end for lap swimming and a shallow area for younger children. The adjacent splash pad at the same location will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. until the weather turns cold.

The Wildrye Splash Pad at Wildrye Park, 90 Wildrye Drive, will open on the same weekend. Visitors can enjoy the spray features and cooling water jets designed for toddlers and school-age children. The splash pad follows the same daily operating window of 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to check the splash pad locations and hours page for updates on daily operations and weather-related closures. The City Parks & Trails team monitors water quality and equipment performance closely to ensure a safe experience for everyone. You can also view the park maintenance schedule to see when crews are scheduled for routine inspections and cleaning around both sites.

“Summer water amenities are a highlight for families looking to beat the heat and stay active,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “We are working hard to get these facilities ready on time so you can enjoy a safe, clean season of swimming and splashing.”

Before you visit, please review the off-leash dog area rules and trail etiquette pages, as the Kingfisher and Wildrye sites are located near shared pathways and natural areas. Keep an eye on the City’s service alerts for any last-minute changes due to weather or water testing.

Thank you for helping us keep Wrenford’s parks and water features clean and welcoming all summer long.
