Fall registration period opens August 13

Registration for fall 2024 recreation programs, day camps, and facility bookings opens Monday, August 13, 2024. Residents can sign up for classes, lessons, and seasonal camps, or reserve sports fields, arenas, and meeting rooms through Wrenford Recreation Online.

Programs run through December 2024 and cover a wide range of interests. Families can register children for swimming lessons, figure skating, and day camps. Adults can join fitness classes, yoga, and gentle movement programs. The city also opens booking for public ice time, gymnasiums, and park shelters. Larch Heights Golf Course opens its fall season with league and tee-time reservations.

You can register online using a credit card, or visit a Service Wrenford counter in person. The main counter is at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street. Recreation centres in Benchlands, Northgate, Ambrel Lake, and Kingfisher also have service desks. If you need help with the website, the Online registration help page has step-by-step guides and video tutorials.

“Recreation is at the heart of what we do in Wrenford,” says Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. “We want every resident to find a program that fits their schedule and interests. This year’s schedule has been expanded based on feedback from last season, and we have added more accessible options across the city.”

Cost can be a barrier for some families. The city offers Recreation fee assistance to help cover registration costs for residents who qualify. You can apply at the Service Wrenford counter or by mail. For programs designed for participants with additional needs, the city offers adapted fitness classes, the Swim abilities programme, and social stories for recreation. Information on inclusive programs is available on the Inclusive and adapted programs page.

Check the full fall schedule and book your spot at Programs when registration opens on August 13.
