Why your voice matters
Wrenford is a city built by its people, and young residents shape our future every day. Whether you are in Grade 7 or just turned 25, the City wants to hear your ideas about parks, transit, housing, community programs, and how we can make Wrenford a better place to grow up and live. You can share your thoughts through several free channels, and your feedback directly guides City Council and staff decisions.
Ways to get involved
Join the Youth Advisory Committee
The Youth Advisory Committee meets monthly at City Hall. Members help plan youth-focused events, review City programs, and present recommendations to Council. You do not need prior experience to join. The City covers meeting snacks and provides a small travel stipend for bus or Wrenford Access fares. Applications open in August each year.
School visits and speaker sessions
Teachers in Wrenford can invite a City planner or the Youth Engagement Coordinator to visit their classroom. We bring interactive materials about how municipal planning works and how students can get involved in local area plans. If you teach in Wrenford and want a session, email us.
Feedback forms and surveys
Every time the City launches a major project—like a new park, a transit route change, or a community centre renovation—we send out youth-friendly feedback forms to schools and post them at recreation centres. We also run short online surveys that take five minutes to finish. Look for the "Youth Voice" banner on our website and social media channels.
Wrenford 311 and online channels
Have an idea or a concern? Call 311 or visit the Wrenford 311 portal online. You can request a service, report a problem, or submit a suggestion for a youth program. The system logs every submission, and staff reply within two business days. For larger policy questions, you can also email the Youth Engagement Hub.
Attend Council and committee meetings
Regular Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Planning and Environment Committee meets on the first Tuesday. All meetings are livestreamed. Youth who are 14 or older can speak during the public comment period by signing up at the front desk 15 minutes before the meeting starts. You get up to three minutes to share your view.
Upcoming youth events
Youth Week in Wrenford takes place every June. The week features free sports tournaments, art workshops, career fairs, and community gatherings at Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre and Ambrel Lake Park. Check the Event Calendar for this year's full schedule.
Youth Citizenship Award nominations open every January. If you know a young person aged 13 to 29 who has made a positive difference in Wrenford, submit a nomination form. The Mayor and Council honour recipients at a ceremony in May. Learn how to nominate someone on the Youth Citizenship Award page.
