What you can do
The Wrenford Youth Citizenship Award recognises young people who go above and beyond to improve the quality of life in our city. If you know a youth who has made a meaningful impact in a neighbourhood, school, or community group, you can nominate them for this honour.
How to nominate
Anyone in the community can submit a nomination, including neighbours, teachers, coaches, and local organisation leaders. Nominations must be submitted as a group or by a single nominator. You cannot nominate a direct relative, such as a parent or sibling.
Submit the Wrenford Youth Citizenship Award Nomination Form by April 15. You will need to provide:
- The nominee's name and contact details
- Your name and contact details as the nominator
- A letter of recommendation describing the youth's contributions and how they have improved life in Wrenford
- Optional: a photograph of the nominee
All submissions must be received by 4:30 p.m. on the deadline date. Late forms will not be reviewed.
Submission options
- Online: Complete the digital form on the Youth page.
- By mail: Send completed forms to Youth Services, P.O. Box 8821, Station Main, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1.
- In person: Drop off paper forms at the Service Wrenford counter in City Hall during business hours.
Rules and fees
There is no fee to submit a nomination. To be considered, a nominee must be between 13 and 29 years old, live in Wrenford, and be attending a school or enrolled in a training programme in the city.
A Youth Awards Committee, appointed by City Council each year, reviews all eligible nominations. The committee evaluates submissions based on the scope and impact of the youth's contributions. Documentation you provide is kept confidential and used only to help the committee make a fair decision.
Awards ceremony
In May, the Mayor and City Council host a public awards ceremony to honour the recipients. The event takes place at the Fallsview Arts Centre and includes a brief reception. Recipients are invited to attend with their families and friends.
