Find housing options for youth

Supportive housing, rental assistance, and navigation services for young people aged 16 to 24 in Wrenford.

Supportive and transitional housing

If you are between 16 and 24 years old and need a stable place to live, you can apply for supportive housing. The City runs the Coordinated Access Program to help youth find housing and connect with support services. Rent is set at 30 per cent of your net monthly income. Staff work with you to build life skills, find work or schooling, and stay connected to the community. See the Find supportive housing page for full eligibility details.

Rental assistance and shared housing

The Wrenford Rent Bank can help if you are facing a rent shortfall and need a one-time loan to keep your current home. The City also supports youth co-ops and shared rental projects. These options let you split costs with other young people while building a support network. Visit the Apply for rental assistance page to see if you qualify.

Youth Housing Navigation Programme

Our Youth Housing Navigation Programme gives you a dedicated case worker who helps you search for rentals, review leases, and connect with mental health or employment resources. You can book a free appointment at the Youth Inclusion desk at City Hall. Drop in Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or email [email protected] to schedule a visit. Malik Johnson, Youth Housing Coordinator, leads the team.

Emergency shelter

If you have nowhere to stay tonight, Safe Nights Wrenford provides a safe place to sleep and a hot meal. The shelter is open year-round at 400 Railside Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 3K8. Walk in any time, or call 311 for a referral. Staff can also help you start the application process for longer-term housing. Learn more at Access homelessness services.
