What is supportive housing?
Supportive housing is affordable housing that provides on-site supports to residents. Supports can include life-skills training, connections to primary health care, mental health services, and substance use services. The City of Wrenford does not manage supportive housing directly. Instead, we partner with non-profit housing providers and community agencies to deliver these services.
How to apply
To apply for supportive housing in Wrenford, you must go through the Coordinated Access Program. This program ensures that housing is matched fairly with residents who need it most. You can start the application process by contacting the Coordinated Access intake team.
- Call the Coordinated Access Intake Line at 519-555-0140.
- Visit the intake desk at Room 209, Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street.
- Walk-in hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Rent and affordability
Rent in supportive housing is calculated based on your income. In Wrenford, the standard rent is 30 per cent of your net monthly income. If your income changes, you must report it to your housing provider so your rent can be adjusted.
Supportive housing locations
Supportive housing units are located across several neighbourhoods, including Downtown, Riverside Flats, and Northgate. Each building is managed by a different non-profit partner. A full list of partner agencies and their contact information is available on the Access homelessness services page.
Key updates
The City is working with the Housing Strategy Steering Committee to expand supportive housing stock. The 2026 Housing Targets Report tracks our progress toward adding new units. We are currently focusing on upgrading existing buildings and converting vacant commercial spaces into supportive homes, as outlined in the Wrenford Housing Strategy 2025–2030.
