Who needs a permit

If you are a contractor, tradesperson, health care provider, or business operating temporarily in a Wrenford Residential Parking Zone, you will need a commercial parking permit. This allows your vehicle to park in permit-only zones while you work on a job site, deliver materials, or visit a client. The permit is designed for temporary work in the neighbourhood and is not a substitute for a residential parking permit.

Where the permit works

The permit is valid in all Residential Parking Zones across the city. It does not apply in paid parking zones, such as areas with Park Plus meters or time-limited spots. You must still follow all posted street parking restrictions and the overnight winter parking ban from December 1 to March 31. Do not block driveways, fire hydrants, or access to transit stops.

How to apply

You can apply online through Service Wrenford at any time. You will need a valid driver’s licence and proof of your business registration or a work order for the job site. If you need a paper form, you can pick one up at Wrenford City Hall or request one by email. We process applications within three business days. Once approved, your permit is issued as a digital document that you must print and display clearly on the dashboard or windshield.

Permit fees

The fee is $125.00 per week. Fees are non-refundable and will not be prorated if you only need the permit for a few days. If your work extends beyond one week, you must renew the permit before it expires. Renewals follow the same three-business-day processing timeline, so please plan ahead to avoid a parking ticket.

Display rules and enforcement

You must display the permit on the inside of your windshield so that the parking enforcement officer can read it easily. Keep a printed copy in your vehicle at all times. Parking enforcement officers patrol residential zones regularly. If your vehicle is parked in a restricted zone without a valid permit, you will receive a parking ticket under the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075. You can pay or dispute the ticket through the provincial court system.
