Fees and payment

There is a fee for dropping off construction and demolition waste at both locations. We weigh all loads on site. You can pay by cash, debit, or credit card at the weigh scale.

  • Rate: $35.00 per tonne
  • Minimum charge: $15.00 for loads under 0.5 tonnes
  • Large loads: Loads over 20 tonnes require advance notice. Call 519-555-0128 to schedule a drop-off time.

Accepted materials

We accept clean construction and demolition materials. Keep loads separated by material type to help us recycle more and keep costs down. Accepted items include:

  • Drywall and gypsum board
  • Concrete, brick, and asphalt
  • Clean wood and lumber (untreated)
  • Roofing shingles and tiles
  • Metals and steel
  • Cardboard and paper packaging
  • Plastic and insulation
  • Carpet (small quantities)

Materials not accepted

The following items are not accepted at our waste facilities. Disposing of these materials is illegal under the Waste management bylaw and regulations. If you bring them, you will be asked to take them away.

  • Household garbage and mixed waste
  • Hazardous waste, including paints, solvents, and chemicals
  • Soil, sand, and rocks
  • Tires and rubber products
  • Liquids or drums of any kind
  • Treated wood (creosote or pressure-treated)
  • Appliances and electronics
  • Asbestos or contaminated materials

Tips to reduce construction waste

Reducing construction waste is a key goal of our Zero waste initiatives and goals. Before you bring materials to the landfill, consider these steps:

  • Order materials carefully: Ask suppliers for exact quantities to avoid excess.
  • Reuse and donate: Leftover lumber, fixtures, and appliances can often be used by local charities or community groups.
  • Sort on site: Keep drywall, concrete, and wood separate. Recycled materials cost less to dispose of than mixed loads.
  • Check the Waste wizard and disposal guide: Look up items you are unsure about before you load your truck.
