When and where we meet

The Wrenford Public Library Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Main Branch, 150 Mercer Street. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and are open to the public. We do not meet in August or December.

Committee meetings usually take place the week before the main board meeting. You can watch the meetings live on our website or view the recordings after they end.

What the board does

The Library Board is an independent arm's-length body. The City funds the library, but the Board makes the decisions about how the library runs. The Board is responsible for:

  • Setting library policy and strategic direction
  • Managing the library budget approved by City Council
  • Hiring and overseeing the Library CEO
  • Ensuring the library meets the needs of all residents

Agendas and minutes

We post the agenda and supporting reports at least five business days before each meeting. Minutes are approved at the next meeting and posted within two weeks. You can find all past documents on the Library board meeting minutes page.

Board members and terms

The Board is made up of community members appointed by City Council. Members serve three-year terms and may be reappointed once. Current member lists and term end dates are available on the Library board of trustees page.

Contact the board

If you want to speak at a meeting, you must fill out a public comment form and return it to the Library CEO at least 48 hours before the meeting. For general questions, contact the Library Board via email at [email protected] or call 519-555-0130.
