Harvest on Mercer planning committee announces fall event details

The planning committee for Harvest on Mercer has announced the schedule, vendor setup, and permit information for the annual fall festival along downtown Mercer Street. The event will take place over two days, Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, 2026, drawing local growers, artisans, and performers to the heart of the city.

The main stage and vendor booths will be set up along Mercer Street between Water and Tamsin Streets. The committee has been working closely with City staff to finalize the street use and temporary use permits required for the market stalls, food trucks, and performance stages. "We are thrilled to bring the community back to downtown Mercer for another year of local food, crafts, and live music," said Rosa Castellano, Events Coordinator. "Our planning committee has put together a schedule that highlights our local growers, artisans, and performers, and we want to make sure every vendor and performer has the information they need to secure their permits ahead of time."

Residents and vendors planning to operate food trucks, sell crafts, or host live music need to submit their applications through the Development Applications portal. Applications for Street use permits to occupy the sidewalk and road right-of-way must be submitted by August 15. Vendors should also review the Sign permits guidelines for booth displays and check the Temporary use permit requirements for any temporary structures or stages. If your setup requires power or water connections, please contact the Development Applications team at least six weeks before the event. Don't forget to check the Development application fees schedule for any applicable processing charges.

Mercer Street will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on both days. Detours will be posted along Fallsview Road and Benchlands Drive. Residents can expect increased transit service on the downtown routes, and the Downtown Transit Terminal will remain open for all Wrenford Access bookings.
