Centennial Gardens community garden plots available for 2026 season

Registration is now open for 3-by-9-metre community garden plots at Centennial Gardens in downtown Wrenford for the 2026 growing season. Gardeners can secure a plot starting April 15, with the standard $45.00 annual registration fee covering water access, compost stations, and shared tool sheds.

The garden site is located at 5 Victoria Street, just off Market Square. Accessible pathways connect the plot gates to the compost bins and equipment storage areas, making the space easy to reach for all gardeners. Plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis through the city's online registration portal. Each gardener must agree to the city's gardening rules, which include keeping plots weed-free and clearing all plants and debris by the October 31 cleanup deadline.

"Community gardens are a fantastic way for neighbours to connect while growing fresh food and flowers right in the heart of the city," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "We encourage everyone to take advantage of the accessible pathways and shared resources we've set up at Centennial Gardens this year."

Gardeners are responsible for their own soil amendments, seeds, and watering schedules. The city provides the water spigots and maintains the surrounding green space. If you need a wheelchair-accessible plot or have questions about the registration process, contact the Parks & Trails team. New gardeners can also drop by the Centennial Gardens information board at 5 Victoria Street to view the current site map and plot layout.

The city also manages several other green spaces along the Tamsin River Trail and in neighbourhood parks like Ambrel Lake Park.
